About

Burgas Zoo is far from a typical zoo. Designed with sustainability in mind, it features lush green spaces and rich vegetation instead of asphalt and concrete.

Many of the animals roam freely, while all residents are raised in a natural environment that closely resembles their native habitats, with enclosures far exceeding standard zoo space requirements. The zoo team travels around the park using quiet, eco-friendly electric vehicles that help protect the environment and minimize disturbance to the animals.

The zoo also provides free shelter and care for many injured animals referred by various foundations that trust Burgas Zoo for its excellent breeding and rehabilitation conditions. After receiving the necessary care and making a full recovery, many of these animals are successfully returned to the wild.
